" Encouraging Newspaper Reading "
I was reading a news blog that said a new scheme has been launched in Scotland for teenagers named “Free Newspaper Scheme”.
It was about giving newspapers free to teenagers on their 18th birthday for a period of one year to encourage them to become long- term readers.
Scotland actually copied this idea from France who first initiated the scheme. The French government gave free newspapers to young people – their ages ranging from 18 to 24 – once a week for a year.

The launch of such a scheme in Pakistan should benefit our younger generation that will inculcate in them the habit of reading newspapers daily.
Our younger generation is addicted to mobiles, iphone, ipods, and laptops. They feel that reading newspapers is boring and a habit of old people. The scheme will induce in them the habit of buying a newspaper in due course.
