THE ex-chief executive of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Malcum Speed, has reportedly stated that Pakistani cricketers have been involved in match-fixing for the last few years, so banning the Pakistani cricket team will be a correct decision. “They should take rest from international cricket for some time”, he said.

Banning our team will be injustice to those who were not involved. The right course to take at this juncture is a lifetime ban on the cricketers involved in the scandal.

Let us give a chance to the other junior cricketers. A lifetime ban will create a sense of sincerity in the upcoming junior cricketers.

However, if the involved players are not punished, the international media will blame the innocent along with the guilty players, and Pakistan will lose whatever respect it has internationally.

While talking to a British newspaper, the ex-Chief Executive of International Cricket Council (ICC), Melcum Speed has stated that, Pakistani Cricketers have been involved in match fixing since last few years, so banning Pakistan’s cricket team will be correct decision for current situation. They should take rest from international cricket for some time”. I think that banning our team will be the injustice to those who were not involved. For the current situation, the correct decision will be the, life time ban on involved cricketers and let us give the chance to other junior cricketers who are waiting for their turn. Life time ban will create a sense of sincerity in upcoming junior cricketers.

Negligence of Doctors?

My Letter Published in The Frontier Post on Sunday 29th August 2010

Negligence of doctors?
Mubashir Shaikh - Hyderabad
In a leading Sindhi newspaper, I read that, on 24th August, a woman died in Orthopaedic ward PMC Hospital, Nawabshah, and the relatives of that woman refused to take away the dead body by saying that the doctor injected her a wrong injection, and that has caused her death, we won't take the body until we get justice.

If the relatives know about the right injection and the wrong one, then why did they came to visit hospital ? Relatives are neither doctors nor paramedical staff, then how does they know? We all know that education in our part of world is not that much good that an ordinary man declares an injection as right or wrong. The journalist who reported this news, should have described the condition of the woman (patient) plus the name of that injection which according to their relatives caused her death. By reporting the patients history and name of injection, that journalist would have enabled all the readers especially doctors, to judge that whether the drug (injection) was right or wrong for that particular condition of the patient.

This respected profession (doctoring) is losing its respect, not every doctor is careless, and doctor is also not the cause of every death. Our people and journalists should give them respect, otherwise if doctors will start taking actions in the form of protests then our people, including these journalists, will be the one most affected.

Love Pakistan, Construct Pakistan - Happy Independence Day

Pakistan belongs to us and we belong to Pakistan. We are the one whose deeds make Pakistan good or bad. We are responsible for all problems, weaknesses and downfalls in Pakistan. So before labeling Pakistan as good or bad, we should see ourselves first. If we find any weakness in our self then we should try to overcome it. If we all start thinking and practicing like this then that day is not so far when Pakistan will be a problem free country and a better place to live in.

"God help those who help themselves"

All Pakistanis are brothers to one another despite of any provincial, regional, social and lingual differences. If one Pakistani is in Pain, then that pain should be felt by all of us. Pakistan is our country, think and work for the betterment of Pakistan, as we do for ourselves.

"Love Pakistan, Construct Pakistan"

Happy Independence Day to all of You ..

Technical Problem in NIP Website

[This was published as a letter in Yesterday's Frontier Post i.e., 13th August 2010]

I wish to draw the attention of the concerned authorities, through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, towards a technical error in the Application Form of National Internship Programme (NIP), available on their website, i.e., http://nip.gov.pk/ApplicationForm.aspx.

The last date for applying is 31st October 2010, and so, many people would have started filling this form online but unfortunately the form is not working, the link given to date calendar is dead, and keeping one box blank, will cause an error in form submission. I am facing this problem on NIP website since a month now.

The concerned authorities are therefore requested to look into this matter without further delay, as there is a big queue of unemployed graduates waiting to apply for National Internship Programme.

Encouraging Newspaper Reading [My Letter in Dawn and The Nation]

My letter, "Encouraging Newspaper Reading", published today i.e., 13th July 2010, in Dawn. This same letter was also published today in The Nation, with the title, "On a News Blog".

" Encouraging Newspaper Reading "

I was reading a news blog that said a new scheme has been launched in Scotland for teenagers named “Free Newspaper Scheme”.

It was about giving newspapers free to teenagers on their 18th birthday for a period of one year to encourage them to become long- term readers.

Scotland actually copied this idea from France who first initiated the scheme. The French government gave free newspapers to young people – their ages ranging from 18 to 24 – once a week for a year.

The launch of such a scheme in Pakistan should benefit our younger generation that will inculcate in them the habit of reading newspapers daily.

Our younger generation is addicted to mobiles, iphone, ipods, and laptops. They feel that reading newspapers is boring and a habit of old people. The scheme will induce in them the habit of buying a newspaper in due course.

Something Like PPHI in Education Sector

People's Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI), the program that has reopened the closed rural health facilities, and till now many poor people of rural areas have got improved delivery of health services at their door steps.

Before PPHI, in rural areas, there were closed and non functional health facilities, shortage of doctors and other paramedical staff, no budgets, no lady doctors, no facility of mobile ultrasound, no punctuality in medical and paramedical staff, detoriated infrastructure, no telephone connectivity, no community participation & awareness efforts, no vaccines for dog and snake bite, and no working maternity homes.

But after PPHI, all health care centers in rural areas are now turned functional, new energetic and young Doctors and paramedical staff is appointed on contract basis, punctuality and work is monitored, lady doctors are available, Ultrasound facility is available, infrastructure is reconstructed, new furniture is given, wireless telephone connectivity is available, community participation and awareness programs in schools are held every week, vaccines and medicines are now available and Maternity Homes are working like never before.

The success of this program can be judged by the fact that the OPD turn over has increased to 255%. The pictorial album and facts figures are available at their website.

I have personally seen few Health centers. one of my relatives contract was not renewed just because she was absent for consecutive 5 days without any application, this shows that doctors are well monitored and strictness is present.

Now, govt should start the similar program with same goals and plans in Education Sector, it will really benefit the poor cihldren of rural areas. All those improvements which came after PPHI, are really needed in Education side also.

A Filmi Act by a Psychotic Patient

Funny but Truth

Sir CJ Institute of Psychiatry, better known as Mental Hospital, situated in Husainabad, Hyderabad. On 14th June, something Filmi was done in this Hospital by a Psychotic Patient. A doctor came to visit a Patient, patient requested Him (Doctor), to give him the keys of car, as he (patient) wanted to listen some music. Doctor gave him the keys. After few minutes the patient started the car and ran away. Everyone was Surprised and Shocked, but unfortunately no one could follow him. S
taff checked the records of the Patient. His name was Mumtaz Shah son of Karam Ali Shah, he was a native of village Wahab Shah, District Matiari. Then the administration shared this info with police and late night he (Patient) was caught from his native village.

Patients admitted in this hospital are not all Mental, but are Psychotic, and its not necessary that a psychotic patient has lost his memory completely (a common misunderstanding). There are many psychotic diseases in which memory is intact. So, beware of these Patients, these fools can make a fool of you. (with Sorry).

My Question to Athiests ... !|!

[ Those who dont follow any Religion, dont believe in any God, are known as Athiests ]

[ Athiests are Blind Idiots ]

I want to ask them (Athiests) that, Marriage was founded in Religion or we can say that Marriage is a Religious Ceremony, then why do you (Athiests) get marry ?

* Those Athiests who belong to a Muslim background, why they marry according to a Muslim Law (Nikkah) ?
* Those who belong to a Hindu Background or Christian Background, why they get marry according to Hinduism and Christianity ?
* You dont believe in any Religion, in any God, then why you follow the Rules of Religion/God ?

[ Allah swt Talks about Marriage in Quran - Surah Nisa, Verse No.3 ]
[ Its also in Bible - Book of genesis, 2:24 ]

Sindhi Google

On January 27th 2010, in a Sindhi Daily (Kawish), I read a news that some final year students of IT Department Sindh University have prepared a software, named as “Sindhi Google”, its basically a search engine, by which you can search the web in sindhi language. This software was displayed in an IT fair, held recently in Sindh University.

Here is the link of “Sindhi Google”,
